Module Description

This module will dive into health and safety obligations and processes in the context of elderly care, including the implications and issues of safety from a personal point of view.

You will also explore a range of theoretical and case study approaches to help you better understand how to conduct a risk assessment, follow a care plan and learn different handling techniques and processes required for moving elderly persons safely.

Entry Requirements

Candidates who apply for this course must possess one of the following: 

  • a pass in English Language and Mathematics;  

 OR 

  •  a MQF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (‘O’ Level or equivalent).                                                                                                                                                                  

Target Audience

This course is targeted at:

  • candidates seeking a career and a formal qualification in elderly care;
  • candidates who wish to progress in their studies along the Further and Higher Education route, whilst broadening their chances of advancing in their own career path.
