Change can come in different forms, be it through mergers and/or acquisitions, organic growth, investment, cut backs, restructuring, technological advancements and market fluctuations. Without change, a company inevitably hibernates and eventually dies. In today’s fast changing world, a manager needs to be constantly on the alert for these changes and must make sure to plan and foresee such changes.
Technological advances in particular have brought about many changes to the various industries, both in the provision of products and of services. Managers must therefore have their ‘finger on the pulse’ and constantly be on the look-out for changes in trends and ways in which to improve their product or service provision.
This module will therefore equip you with the necessary information on how to manage change in your organisation; from communicating a new vision, objective or target to colleagues, teams and other relevant stakeholders, to planning, developing and implementing the changes within an organisation. It will also equip you with useful techniques in developing skills to cope with negative reactions to change, overcoming obstacles and facing challenges within your organisation.
Candidates who apply for this course must possess one of the following:
- a Level 6 degree;
- a Level 5 diploma or higher diploma and 5 years’ work experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Preference is given to applicants having a Level 6 degree in a discipline related to the study programme and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in management.
This course is targeted at management professionals with supervisory and/or middle management experience such as:
- operations manager/coordinator
- financial manager
- supply chain manager
- shop floor manager/supervisor
- marketing and sales manager
- services manager/supervisor.
- retail managers/supervisors
- transport managers
- maintenance managers
- marketing managers
The target group focuses primarily on people already employed within supervisory and managerial roles who wish to have a more thorough background in the subject in order to progress further in their careers.
The programme aims to prepare you for senior posts such as that of general manager, head of department or director of any organisation, both in the private and public sector.
How you’ll be assessed
The programme comprises a total of 10 modules. The method of assessment is assignment-based.
The course comprises:
- 6 lectures per module;
- 3-hour lectures;
- 12 hours of online content per module, comprising asynchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.

Reading for the entire Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Management as presented in this brochure costs $10,450.*
Due to the modular structure of the course, you may also opt to take individual modules as stand-alone. The entry requirements still apply.**
