Facilities Management in Construction
Construction projects deliver buildings and facilities that are handed over to the owner or user at the end of the construction phase. Construction managers need to understand the dynamics, regulations and constraints faced by the Facilities Managers, who are the people responsible for up-keeping the working and living environment of the users, in ensuring that the people using the facilities are safe and not exposed to any hazards, and that the facility is suitable for business continuity. They need to be aware of the legislative, health and safety, operational and client requirements that the Facilities Managers will be facing in order to ensure that what they are constructing is fit for purpose.
